Madeleine Blanchfield Architects is a Sydney-based practice specialising in architecture and interiors for bespoke private residences and multi-residential projects. Founded in 2009, the studio is guided by a singular focus: creating homes that enrich everyday life.
Our approach balances rigour and sensitivity with moments of the unexpected. Each project begins with a close reading of site, context and client, resulting in homes that are deeply personal and respond intuitively to how people live.
Central to the practice is a commitment to sensory design: an approach that considers light, materiality and atmosphere to create environments that are felt as much as they are seen. Through this lens, we deliver refined, enduring homes that prioritise calm, connection and lived experience.
Our team works through iterative, evaluative processes: we are meticulous about detail and holistic in approach. The results belie their complexity, appearing effortlessly sophisticated.
We operate with a collaborative spirit at every stage, driven by curiosity and genuine empathy for our clients and collaborators. There is a warmth to our work and the way we work, shaping spaces that inspire and uplift those who experience them.
Madeleine Blanchfield Architects acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
